Kwara United Coach Explains Poor Run, Promises Squad Reinforcement

Kwara United Coach Explains Poor Run, Promises Squad Reinforcement

Kwara United technical adviser Ashifat Suleiman has opened up on the club’s current struggles, attributing their poor run of form to a dip in performance and the departure of key players.

The Harmony Boys are yet to record a win in the second stanza of the league season, a run that continued on Thursday following a 1–0 defeat to Kun Khalifat FC in their Matchday 23 encounter in Owerri.

Speaking to the club’s media after the loss, Suleiman admitted that the situation is worrying, particularly the team’s inability to find the back of the net.

“This is a difficult moment for us. We have not scored a goal since the start of the second stanza,” he said.
“We’ve lost form and some players to foreign trials, but we will surely strengthen the squad and ensure we maintain our league status.”

The Kwara United coach also reassured supporters that the club is working to bring in new signings before the transfer window closes, in a bid to stabilise the team and reverse their fortunes.

Opinion: Time Is Running Out, Action Must Follow Words

Kwara United’s struggles highlight a familiar problem in domestic football: squad instability at crucial moments of the season. While player departures for foreign trials are a sign of progress and exposure, they can leave teams vulnerable if not properly managed.

Suleiman’s honesty is commendable, but the real test lies in how quickly the club can respond. Goals win matches, and without attacking reinforcements or tactical adjustments, the pressure will only intensify.

The promise to strengthen the squad offers hope, but fans will be watching closely. At this stage of the season, intent must translate into impact on the pitch. If Kwara United act decisively in the transfer market and regain confidence, survival remains achievable.

For now, the Harmony Boys must dig deep—because in football, difficult moments often define a club’s character.
