Bella Shmurda has marked three years since Mohbad's death with a message about their friendship, the music they made together, and the people he holds responsible. He was one of the closest collaborators Mohbad had, and one of the loudest voices in the weeks after September 2023.
What the three years produced
An exhumation, an autopsy, a coroner's inquest, arrests, a great deal of public testimony and a national argument about how young artists are treated by the people who sign them. What it has not produced, three years on, is a settled and widely accepted account of how a 27-year-old died.
