Why three-artist records became normal

Because streaming changed the arithmetic. A track with three artists is pushed to three fanbases, appears on three sets of algorithmic playlists and is posted by three sets of followers. The cost is a split of the royalties. The benefit is a multiple of the distribution.

Bella Shmurda came through with an emotional, melodic version of the same scene. FOLA is the newest of the three, releasing an album, and is the one who needs this record most.

The street sound's position now

It is the most commercially durable strand in Nigerian music domestically and the least exported. The Afrobeats that travels internationally is smoother, and the records that actually move in Lagos are frequently these. That gap is why an artist can be enormous at home and barely register on a global chart.
