Super Falcons Set for Rabat Battle as Nigeria Learn 2026 WAFCON Group Schedule
Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play all their group stage matches at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat, Morocco.
The nine-time African champions were drawn in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt, with head coach Justine Madugu’s team aiming to defend their continental crown.
The Super Falcons will begin their title defence against Malawi’s Scorchers on Tuesday, July 28, at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.
Nigeria will return to the same venue for their second group match against Zambia on Saturday, August 1, before facing Egypt in their final group fixture at the Olympic Stadium, Rabat, four days later.
If Nigeria finish top of Group C, they will also remain in Rabat for their quarter-final clash against the runners-up from Group D.
The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Morocco from July 26 to August 16, with teams battling for Africa’s biggest women’s football prize.
Opinion:
The Super Falcons have a clear advantage with all their group matches taking place in one city, reducing travel stress and allowing the team to maintain a consistent routine throughout the opening stage.
However, being defending champions also comes with extra pressure. Every opponent will see Nigeria as the team to beat, and the Falcons must combine experience with fresh energy if they want to prove that their dominance in African women’s football is still intact.
