Zlatan Ibrahimovic Names France Star With ‘Ego’ Among Mbappe, Dembele and Olise

Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has shared his opinion on the attacking trio of France, identifying Kylian Mbappe as the player with the biggest ego among the team’s forward options.

Ibrahimovic made the comments during analysis on Fox Sports after France’s 3-0 victory over Sweden in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32.

According to the former AC Milan and Barcelona striker, Mbappe’s desire to score goals shows a level of ego, while teammates Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise play with a different mentality.

“When you have strikers like Olise, who doesn’t have an ego, wants to score goals is perfect for them and Dembele, who also doesn’t have an ego, but Mbappe does have an ego, he wants to score,” Ibrahimovic said.

Mbappe has been one of France’s standout performers at the tournament, scoring six goals so far, while Dembele has contributed four goals. Olise, although yet to find the net, has impressed with five assists.

Ibrahimovic’s comments highlight the different personalities that often exist within elite attacking teams. In football, having a strong individual ambition is not always a weakness — many great goalscorers are driven by the hunger to be decisive.
