Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has expressed joy following the release of pupils and teachers who were abducted from a school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The victims regained their freedom after spending more than 50 days in captivity. Their release was confirmed on Friday by Presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga, who shared photos of the rescued pupils and teachers on social media.

Reacting to the development via his social media platform, Cubana Chief Priest described the news as the highlight of the weekend.

“It’s gonna be such an amazing weekend. Thank God, this is the best news so far,” he wrote.

The socialite's reaction reflects the widespread relief felt across the country following the safe return of the schoolchildren and their teachers after weeks of uncertainty.

In recent months, Cubana Chief Priest has also remained vocal on political developments. He publicly celebrated Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s withdrawal from the APC governorship primary, backed President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and spoke openly about his unsuccessful bid for the APC ticket to represent Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Despite losing the primary election, the businessman has maintained that he remains committed to public service and has vowed not to give up on his political ambitions.
