Aubameyang Returns to LaLiga, Joins Deportivo La Coruña on Two-Year Deal

Former Barcelona, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a return to Spanish football after signing for newly promoted Deportivo La Coruña ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Gabon international officially sealed the move on Friday, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with the historic Spanish club after reportedly falling out of Marseille's plans for the new campaign.

According to reports, Deportivo secured the experienced forward's services for a fee of around €1.5 million, adding proven firepower as they prepare for life back in LaLiga.

Aubameyang is no stranger to Spanish football, having enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona, where he quickly became a fan favourite with his goals and energetic displays.

Now 37, the veteran striker brings a wealth of experience from spells at Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and Marseille, and is expected to play a key leadership role as Deportivo seek to establish themselves in the top flight.

Deportivo earned promotion after finishing second in LaLiga 2 during the 2025/26 campaign and will kick off their return to Spain's elite division with a home fixture against Elche on August 17.
