Serdar Dursun Questions Victor Osimhen’s Suitability for Barcelona

Former Fenerbahçe striker Serdar Dursun has cast doubt on whether Victor Osimhen has the technical qualities required to thrive at FC Barcelona, despite praising the Super Eagles striker's overall ability.

Osimhen enjoyed another impressive campaign with Galatasaray, playing a pivotal role in the club's successful defence of the Turkish Super Lig title.

The Nigerian finished the season with 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe's most sought-after strikers.

His performances have attracted interest from several elite clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, Dursun believes Barcelona's possession-based style could expose limitations in Osimhen's game.

Speaking on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, he said:

"I don't think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. Osimhen is a talented player, but he doesn't have a clean technique."

Reports have also linked Barcelona with a move for Julián Álvarez instead of the Nigerian international, adding further uncertainty to Osimhen's future.

With preparations for the 2026/27 season approaching, the former SSC Napoli striker is expected to decide on his next destination in the coming weeks.
