Doris Ogala Defends Regina Daniels Amid Drug Allegations: “She Never Admitted to Doing Drugs”
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has come to the defence of her colleague Regina Daniels, following social media claims that the actress admitted to taking drugs in a recent statement.
In a post shared via her Instagram page, Doris clarified that Regina’s statement was taken out of context and was not an admission to drug use, but rather a response to her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko’s accusations.
Doris wrote that the actress’s post was a defence, not a confession, urging the public to read the full statement before drawing conclusions.
Earlier, Regina Daniels had addressed her ongoing marital dispute with Ned Nwoko, accusing him of trying to damage her reputation and drag her family into their issues.
In her words:
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.
Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media.”
Her words immediately sparked reactions online, with some interpreting it as a direct confession — a claim Doris Ogala has now refuted.
Opinion: The Power of Words and the Price of Public Life
In the age of social media, every word celebrities speak becomes a headline, often stripped of its original meaning. The Regina Daniels–Ned Nwoko saga perfectly reflects how public figures can lose control of their own narratives once emotions and the internet collide.
Regina’s words may have sounded blunt, but reading between the lines, it’s clear she was speaking in frustration, not confession. Her tone wasn’t one of guilt but of anger — the kind that comes when a private disagreement spills into public space.
Doris Ogala’s intervention also highlights an important truth: the need for empathy and context in today’s digital conversations. Too often, fans rush to judge, forgetting that behind the trending headlines are real people dealing with emotional and marital battles.
Whether or not one agrees with how Regina handled the issue, one thing remains evident — public marriages in Nollywood demand thick skin and clearer communication, especially when love turns into a social media courtroom.
