Ned Nwoko Insists Regina Daniels Must Go to Rehab, Cites ‘Alarming’ Toxicology Reports
Senator Ned Nwoko has once again called for his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, to undergo rehabilitation for alleged drug addiction — a claim that continues to stir waves across social media.
In a new interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nwoko said his stance is driven by concern for Daniels’ health and their two young sons, insisting that rehab is necessary “to help her regain stability and protect the children.”
According to him, several toxicology reports revealed “dangerously high levels of harmful substances” in the actress’s system.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children,” Nwoko said.
“Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children? I have lived with this problem for eight months, and on three occasions, I had to carry her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious from a drug overdose. You can verify it.”
Nwoko further alleged that Regina’s personality had changed in recent months, describing what he called “violent and erratic behaviour” linked to her alleged drug use.
He also accused some of Regina’s close friends and siblings — particularly her brother, Sammy — of enabling her habit.
“Her close relations and friends that I trusted are the ones exploiting her to supply her with drugs,” he said. “Each time progress was made, they would undo it by smuggling in the same drugs she was fighting to give up.”
The senator dismissed counterclaims from Regina’s family, calling them “baseless distractions”, and challenged them to take the actress for an independent toxicology test, promising to foot the bill.
Nwoko also debunked Regina’s brother’s statement that his son died of a drug overdose in the UK, insisting that autopsy results did not support that claim.
The couple’s marriage has been on the brink since October, following a viral video showing a teary Regina accusing Nwoko of domestic violence.
Earlier today, the actress fired back in a statement, admitting to drug use but accusing her estranged husband of manipulating and controlling her, even alleging that he was in possession of her private tape.
Opinion: When Love Turns Public — The Heavy Price of Celebrity Marriages
The unfolding drama between Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels has become more than just a domestic dispute — it’s a public heartbreak under the spotlight of fame. What began as one of Nollywood’s most glamorous marriages has now turned into a battle of words, accusations, and emotional wounds, all playing out before millions of spectators.
At the heart of this storm are two people who once vowed to protect each other — now tearing each other apart in interviews and statements. Whether or not Regina truly struggles with substance abuse, or whether Ned’s claims are exaggerated, one fact is undeniable: the children are the silent victims of this public war.
The situation also raises a deeper question — where does love end and control begin?
If Ned’s intentions are genuinely rooted in concern, then his approach should lean more toward compassion than confrontation. And if Regina’s response comes from pain and trauma, then perhaps her words are cries for help rather than rebellion.
In truth, this is no longer about who’s right or wrong. It’s about healing, accountability, and the urgent need for privacy. The internet isn’t a courtroom, and social media applause can’t fix a broken home.
In the end, what Nigerians — and the world — hope to see isn’t another scandalous headline, but a story of redemption. Because beyond the fame, the titles, and the politics, this is still a family — and families, even the famous ones, deserve peace.
