Ned Nwoko Shares ‘Proof’ of Regina Daniels’ Age Amid Ongoing Marital Crisis
Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko has once again responded to the swirling controversy surrounding his marriage to actress Regina Daniels, revealing new details about her age when they first met.
The lawmaker, representing Delta North Senatorial District, stated that Regina told him she was 21 years old at the time they met — not 17, as many have claimed online.
Nwoko made this revelation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, where he also shared documents including Regina’s INEC voter’s card as evidence.
He wrote:
“It has come to my attention that false claims are being circulated by Regina, suggesting that I married her when she was 17 years old. These claims are entirely untrue and misleading.
For clarity, during my first meeting with Regina, I asked her age, and she told me she was 21 years old. I further asked if she had any document to support this, and she presented her INEC voter’s card, which clearly shows that she was born on October 10, 1998.”
The senator added that he has kept the card in his possession since that day, noting that even Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, had confirmed her daughter’s age in a BBC interview shortly after their marriage.
The couple’s union has been marred by domestic violence allegations and public drama, with Regina recently announcing that she was “no longer interested” in the marriage — claims Ned has strongly denied.
Opinion: When Public Love Stories Turn into Public Scandals 💔
The Ned Nwoko–Regina Daniels saga has turned into one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity-political dramas — and it shows no sign of cooling down soon.
What started years ago as a fairytale marriage between a young Nollywood star and a wealthy senator has now become a public battleground of accusations, age debates, and emotional revelations.
While Nwoko’s decision to present official documents might seem like an effort to clear his name, it also raises a question: why are deeply personal matters now being settled through social media posts and press statements?
The age controversy, though important, is beginning to overshadow the real issue — the allegations of domestic violence and the state of the relationship itself. Both parties seem more focused on proving points than healing wounds.
At this point, Nigerians are no longer just curious observers — they are weary witnesses to yet another celebrity marriage unraveling in the public eye. Perhaps it’s time both sides step away from social media courtrooms and seek peace privately.
