NCAA: VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof to Face Full Force of the Law After Mid-Air Altercation

NCAA: VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof to Face Full Force of the Law After Mid-Air Altercation

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has vowed to take strict action against social media personalities VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof following their physical confrontation inside an aircraft at the Asaba International Airport on Sunday, November 17.

Michael Achimugu, the spokesperson of the NCAA, issued a strong statement via his X (Twitter) handle, condemning the incident and describing the behavior of both men as “unruly, dangerous, and completely unacceptable aboard an aircraft.”

According to Achimugu, he became aware of the altercation shortly before his own flight took off. Despite being in transit, he alerted NCAA officials to begin preliminary investigations.

In his words:
“There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law. It is even more shameful when one considers both of them partners in educating their millions of followers to avoid unruly behavior.”

He noted that the NCAA is awaiting an official incident report from the airline, after which the case will be forwarded to the authority’s legal department for appropriate action. Achimugu also speculated on whether the pilot deplaned both passengers or continued the flight with them onboard — a detail he said could influence the penalties they face.

“The actions of both men put the safety of all other passengers and the crew at risk,” he added, warning that aviation safety is a zero-tolerance zone for fights, disorderliness, or any interference with flight operations.

Both VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof are currently at the Delta State Airport Police Command, writing statements as part of ongoing investigations.

Opinion: Influence Comes With Responsibility — And This Is the Wake-Up Call They Needed

This incident is bigger than a celebrity clash — it is a reminder of how deeply irresponsible behavior from public figures can ripple into matters of national safety.

VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof are not just random passengers; they are men with millions of followers, known for calling out misconduct in society. Yet, in a space where discipline is non-negotiable — inside an aircraft — they allowed personal disagreements to escalate into chaos.

Their conduct didn’t just embarrass them individually; it also undermined the credibility of the causes they champion. If influencers who preach order cannot practice self-control in aviation environments, what message does that send to the youth who idolize them?

The NCAA’s strong stance is necessary. Air travel is not another street argument, Instagram live session, or trending fight for likes. It is a controlled safety environment — and anyone who jeopardizes that must face consequences, regardless of fame.

Hopefully, this becomes a turning point. Social media clout should not translate into real-life recklessness. Influence is a privilege, and moments like this remind us that credibility can be lost faster than it is gained.
