Chidimma Adetshina Explains Why She Missed BBNaija 2025: Eyes Set on 2026 Edition
Former Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has opened up about why she was unable to join the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), despite expressing earlier interest in participating.
In August 2024, the beauty queen revealed her intention to enter this year’s reality show. However, when the show concluded in October with Imisi emerging as the winner of N80 million and a brand-new SUV, Chidimma’s absence was noticed by fans.
In a video shared on her X page, Adetshina explained that her manager had advised against joining BBNaija because she was still holding the Miss Universe Nigeria title.
“I really enjoyed my stay in Nigeria, and even now, like I said, once I get my documents sorted, I am going back. Nigeria was really great for me,” she said, reflecting fondly on the eight months she spent in the country.
She also confirmed plans to participate in the 2026 BBNaija edition, adding that she sees many opportunities for growth and exploration in Nigeria.
“I wanted to do it this year, but my manager said I couldn’t because I’m still Miss Universe Nigeria,” she explained.
Adetshina, who revealed in November 2024 that she would be taking a break from pageants, emphasized that her focus now is on education, modeling, and acting, signaling a strategic approach to her career.
OPINION: Chidimma’s Decision Reflects Strategic Career Planning
Chidimma Adetshina’s decision to skip BBNaija 2025 highlights a growing trend among public figures who carefully balance opportunities with long-term career considerations. While the show offers fame and exposure, holding the Miss Universe Nigeria title required a measured approach to protect her brand and reputation.
Her transparency also resonates with fans who often assume reality TV participation is all about instant recognition. Chidimma’s story shows that success in the entertainment industry is about timing, strategy, and making choices that align with personal and professional goals.
By choosing to wait until 2026, she not only preserves her image but also ensures she can approach BBNaija with a fresh perspective, ready to make the most of the platform without compromising her existing accolades or future ambitions.
For many young talents navigating multiple opportunities, Chidimma’s approach serves as a valuable lesson: sometimes, saying ‘not yet’ is the smartest move you can make for long-term success.
