TikTok Star Peller Apologizes After Dangerous Driving Incident, Cites Personal Struggles
Popular Nigerian TikTok personality, Peller, has broken his silence following his arrest by the Lagos State Police Command over a dangerous driving incident and an alleged suicide attempt.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Peller expressed deep remorse for his actions, appealing to the public for forgiveness.
“I am sorry, Nigerians. Please, I’m sorry. I will never do that again. I’m very sorry, please. For now, I am on medication. Once I am done with my medication, I will be online,” he stated.
The controversy is reportedly linked to Peller’s recent breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis, who confirmed that the relationship ended due to Peller’s difficulty with emotional control.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, when Peller was allegedly livestreaming while driving on the Lekki–Epe Expressway in Lagos—a reckless act that resulted in a severe accident. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the matter has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, and Peller will be arraigned in court once the probe is concluded.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, also took the opportunity to warn social media influencers and content creators, stressing that showcasing reckless or dangerous behavior online will attract strict legal consequences.
Opinion: The Price of Digital Stardom
Peller’s incident is a cautionary tale about the pressures and pitfalls of internet fame. While content creation can be lucrative and rewarding, it also comes with immense responsibility—especially when real-life safety is at stake. His apology and admission of emotional struggles remind us that digital personalities are human too, facing personal challenges just like anyone else.
This situation should serve as a wake-up call for both influencers and their audiences: the pursuit of viral content must never come at the expense of safety, mental health, or the lives of others on the road. In an era where livestreams and online stunts dominate, accountability and self-care should be just as trending as views and likes.
