NWFL Opens Mid-Season Transfer Window as Clubs Prepare for Second Stanza

NWFL Opens Mid-Season Transfer Window as Clubs Prepare for Second Stanza

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has officially opened its mid-season transfer window following the completion of the first half of the 2024/25 season. This window, which allows clubs to strengthen their squads, will remain open until March 11, 2025.

With the league currently on break after matchday seven, clubs now have the opportunity to make strategic signings before the second stanza kicks off on March 19.

Current League Standings and Title Race

The battle for the NWFL title is heating up:

  • Remo Stars Ladies lead Group A with 19 points, closely followed by reigning champions Edo Queens with 17 points.

  • Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens are tied on 17 points at the top of Group B, while Delta Queens remain in the chase.

Clubs’ Opportunity to Strengthen Squads

With the transfer window open, teams will be looking to reinforce key areas to stay competitive in the title race. Will Edo Queens make moves to reclaim the top spot? Can Remo Stars Ladies maintain their lead? And will Rivers Angels or Bayelsa Queens pull ahead in Group B?

This mid-season window could be a game-changer for clubs looking to dominate the second half of the season. Who do you think needs to make the biggest moves? ⚽🔥
