Tacha to Attempt Guinness World Record with 3-Day Beauty Festival in Lagos
Reality TV star and entrepreneur Tacha Akide is set to put Nigeria on the global stage as she prepares to attempt breaking the Guinness World Record for the most makeovers completed within 24 hours.
The bold attempt will be part of her 3-day beauty festival, holding from October 10th to 12th, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos.
According to Tacha, the festival will not only aim at making history but also celebrate Nigeria’s thriving beauty industry while promoting creativity, commerce, and cultural pride.
“This is more than just a beauty festival; it’s a powerful convergence of culture, creativity, commerce, and national pride,” Tacha announced.
The festival promises an array of activities including trainings, empowerment workshops, business hacks, exhibitions, and networking opportunities—a 360° experience for beauty lovers and entrepreneurs across makeup, fashion, skincare, wellness, and hair.
With her record-breaking sights set, Tacha is rallying industry professionals and enthusiasts to join in shaping what she describes as “something extraordinary together.”
Opinion:
Tacha’s ambition is more than a personal milestone—it’s a statement. In a world where Nigeria is often in the headlines for the wrong reasons, her attempt highlights a different narrative: a country rich in creativity, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit.
The beauty industry in Nigeria is no small affair. It fuels jobs, inspires innovation, and shapes culture. By tying a world record attempt to a festival of empowerment, Tacha is cleverly blending global recognition with local growth. This isn’t just about makeup brushes and lipsticks; it’s about spotlighting an industry that could contribute immensely to Nigeria’s economy if given the right support.
Of course, skeptics may dismiss this as mere showbiz, but beneath the glamour lies a bigger vision: using beauty as a tool for business, culture, and national pride. If successful, Tacha’s attempt could inspire more Nigerians to think boldly, to dream beyond limits, and to believe that even in industries often overlooked, world-class impact is possible.
The question now is—will Nigeria rally behind her to make this dream a reality?
