Tacha Akide Celebrates Guinness World Record for Fastest Makeovers, Dedicates Achievement to Late Mother

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Natacha Akide has celebrated a major milestone after receiving her Guinness World Records plaque for setting a new record in makeup artistry.

Akide achieved the feat by completing 82 makeovers in eight hours and 143 makeovers in 24 hours, surpassing the previous record of 64 makeovers in eight hours. The accomplishment officially crowns her as the fastest makeup artist in the world.

Sharing photos of the plaque on Instagram, the reality TV star described the achievement as the result of years of dedication and persistence in her craft.

“Records are broken. Some records are made. And some are made with purpose… 82 makeovers in 8 hours. 143 makeovers in 24 hours. This wasn’t just about speed… it was about impact, dedication, and a decade of showing up for my craft,” she wrote.

Tacha also dedicated the achievement to her late mother, Stella, who passed away 12 years ago. According to her, her mother played a vital role in teaching her the skills that eventually shaped her career.

Reflecting emotionally on the milestone, she expressed how much she wished her mother could witness the moment.

“My mom taught me everything I know today. Every step, every win, every milestone… I wish I could run to you and say: Mummy, see what I did,” she wrote.

Opinion: A Reminder That Persistence Builds Legacy

Tacha’s achievement highlights an important lesson about dedication and growth. While many know her from reality television, her Guinness World Record proves that public figures can evolve beyond entertainment into fields that require discipline and skill.

Her story also reflects the power of passion sustained over time. Ten years of consistent effort in her craft eventually produced a world record—a reminder that success is often built quietly over years before it becomes visible to the public.

Beyond the record itself, her tribute to her late mother adds a deeper emotional layer to the achievement, showing that behind many great accomplishments lies the influence of people who shaped us long before the spotlight arrived.
