Apostle Johnson Suleman, VeryDarkMan Unite Over Rising Truck Tragedies in Auchi

The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has teamed up with popular social critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to raise concern over the frequent and tragic accidents caused by trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

This comes in the wake of a horrific accident on Sunday afternoon where three people lost their lives after being crushed by a Dangote cement truck close to OFM in Auchi.

Videos making rounds on social media captured the moment Apostle Suleman and VDM stood together on a pedestrian bridge near the accident scene, surrounded by onlookers. While the exact details of their discussion remain unclear, their presence symbolized a united call for action.

Tragically, this is not an isolated incident. Barely days earlier, Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of BBNaija Season 7 winner Phyna, was killed in a similar crash involving a Dangote cement truck—just six days after her graduation from Auchi Polytechnic.

In response, VDM alongside Auchi residents had already staged a massive protest, demanding that Dangote trucks be barred from passing through the town due to the recurring fatalities.

Opinion
The loss of innocent lives in Auchi is no longer “just an accident”—it has become a pattern, and that should deeply trouble us all. Trucks, especially those belonging to corporate giants like Dangote Cement, appear to dominate the roads in ways that are increasingly unsafe for ordinary commuters.

The joint presence of Apostle Suleman and VeryDarkMan at the scene sends a powerful message: this is not merely a traffic issue—it is a humanitarian crisis. When men of faith and outspoken activists stand side by side, it reflects the collective pain of a community that feels unheard and unprotected.

At its core, this tragedy highlights the urgent need for government accountability and corporate responsibility. Should lives be the cost of industrial progress? Should families continue to be shattered because safety measures are ignored or regulations are poorly enforced?

Auchi residents have every right to demand safer roads. It is not enough to mourn the dead; it is time to protect the living. The question now is whether policymakers will act—or whether Auchi must keep paying the price for negligence, one life at a time.

Because in truth, no economic gain can ever justify the endless grief of families burying loved ones gone too soon
