Osimhen in Contention for Galatasaray’s Champions League Clash with Liverpool
Galatasaray head coach, Okan Buruk, has confirmed that Victor Osimhen could feature in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League showdown against Liverpool at RAMS Park.
Osimhen made a brief return on Friday, coming off the bench in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Alanyaspor, after missing three consecutive games due to injury.
While the Nigerian striker is not yet at full fitness, Buruk noted that his progress in training has been encouraging.
“Victor continued training. We will see how he was in the last training session today. The fact that he played 10 minutes in the last match and continued training with us is a positive thing for us. We will look at his condition today and make a decision,” the coach said via the club’s official website.
Galatasaray will be eager to bounce back after their disappointing Matchday One defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, and the return of Osimhen could provide the firepower they need.
Opinion: A Potential Game-Changer Awaits
For Galatasaray, the question isn’t just whether Osimhen will play, but how much of an impact he can make if unleashed against Liverpool. Even at 70 or 80 percent fitness, the Nigerian forward’s presence alone can unsettle defenders and shift the momentum of a game.
Liverpool, having just tasted their first domestic defeat of the season, will be wary of a wounded Galatasaray looking to restore confidence. And in high-stakes nights like this, the finest margins decide everything.
Osimhen may not be in peak condition, but sometimes passion and instinct are enough to write the story. If Buruk takes the gamble, Tuesday could be one of those nights where the striker’s resilience inspires not just his team, but an entire stadium.
