Skitmaker Carter Efe Cries Out Over Possible Eviction, Seeks Nigerians’ Support
Popular Nigerian skitmaker and streamer, Carter Efe, has revealed that he is facing eviction from his apartment, just a day before his birthday.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Carter Efe lamented his housing struggles, explaining that he was earlier forced out of his former studio and now risks losing his current apartment.
The entertainer, visibly distressed, disclosed that the last apartment he inspected was priced at a staggering ₦18.4 million — an amount he admitted was far beyond his means.
“Since when did they start chasing me from my former studio, I don’t have anywhere to stay. Nigerians, I don’t have a place. Even this apartment, today they want to chase me. What can I do? I’m tired of looking for a house. The last one I saw cost 18.4 million. I don’t know where I want to stay. My birthday is tomorrow, the 29th. I beg you, please help me rent a house,” he said.
Carter Efe, known for his comedic skits and music parodies, also shared his bank details in the video, appealing for support from Nigerians.
Opinion: When Fame Doesn’t Equal Financial Security
Carter Efe’s cry for help is a stark reminder that fame does not always translate to financial stability. In a country where the entertainment industry is often celebrated for its glitz and glamour, stories like this reveal a deeper struggle—creators working tirelessly to entertain millions, yet sometimes lacking the security of a roof over their heads.
It also reflects the harsh realities of Nigeria’s skyrocketing housing market, where affordable living spaces have become a luxury. For a skitmaker who has brought laughter and joy to many, Carter Efe’s situation raises a bigger conversation about how society values content creators beyond their entertainment.
Perhaps his plea will resonate with not just fans, but also policymakers and industry stakeholders, to rethink how Nigeria supports its creative voices. After all, behind every viral video is a real human being, navigating real-life struggles.
