Remo Stars Set for Ikenne Return as Stadium Renovation Is Completed

Remo Stars are set to return to their home ground in Ikenne for the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, following the completion of renovation works at the Remo Stars Stadium.

The Sky Blue Stars began the current campaign playing their home matches at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta after renovation works were ongoing at their original ground. However, the club’s proprietor, Kunle Soname, has now confirmed that the pitch renovation has been fully completed and approved after a successful inspection.

The reigning NPFL champions will mark their return to Ikenne with a home fixture against Ikorodu City later this month, a match expected to draw strong support from fans eager to welcome the team back.

Opinion:
Remo Stars’ return to Ikenne is more than a change of venue—it signals stability and ambition. Playing at home often provides a psychological edge, especially for a side with championship pedigree. With the pitch now upgraded, the club has an opportunity to reinforce its strong identity and reconnect with its fan base. If the Sky Blue Stars can translate home support into results, their return to Ikenne could be a defining moment in their title defense.
