Umar Sani Yakasai Set for Bichi First FC Switch as Promotion Push Intensifie

Umar Sani Yakasai is closing in on a move to Nigeria National League, NNL, side Bichi First FC, TalkTalk Nigeria reports. The midfielder is expected to complete the switch before the close of the current transfer window.

Yakasai recently parted ways with Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, outfit Kano Pillars after he was deemed surplus to requirements. The former NPFL champions terminated his contract at the end of the first stanza, paving the way for the experienced midfielder to seek a fresh challenge.

In recent days, Yakasai has been spotted training with Bichi First FC, a strong indication that negotiations are at an advanced stage. All signs suggest the Kano-based club are keen to secure his services as they push for promotion in their debut NNL campaign.

Bichi First FC currently sit second on the NNL Conference D table, having accumulated 13 points from seven matches, and remain firmly in the race for a top finish.

Opinion & Insight

For Bichi First FC, this potential signing could be a statement of intent. Yakasai’s NPFL experience, especially with a club as big as Kano Pillars, could bring leadership, composure, and tactical discipline to a side still finding its feet at this level.

While his exit from Pillars may raise questions, a drop to the NNL often serves as a reset for players hungry to prove a point. If Yakasai arrives motivated, he could become a key figure in midfield and a difference-maker in tight games. For a club chasing promotion, that kind of experience and hunger could be exactly what turns promise into achievement.
