Jose Peseiro Backs Terem Moffi to Shine After Porto Move
Former Porto manager Jose Peseiro has expressed confidence that Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi will adapt quickly and succeed following his move to Portuguese giants FC Porto.
Moffi recently joined Porto on loan from French Ligue 1 side Nice, marking a new chapter in his European journey. Reacting to the transfer, Peseiro insisted the Nigerian forward has both the quality and experience required to thrive in the Portuguese league.
Speaking via One Football, Peseiro pointed to Porto manager Francesco Farioli’s familiarity with the player as a key factor behind the move.
“If Farioli knows him [Moffi] and wants to sign him, it is because he understands that Moffi has the ability and quality for his style of play,” Peseiro said.
The former Porto boss added that Moffi’s exposure to top-level European football puts him in a strong position to settle in seamlessly.
“He’s perfectly adapted to European football; he is a player with the ability to adapt and with the quality to play in Portugal.”
Moffi has previously featured for clubs such as FC Lorient in France and K.V. Kortrijk in Belgium, building a reputation as a physically strong striker with an eye for goal.
Opinion: A Smart Move at the Right Time
Jose Peseiro’s backing of Terem Moffi feels both reassuring and realistic.
Moffi is no longer an inexperienced prospect trying to find his feet in Europe. He has already tested himself in demanding leagues and shown that he can score goals, battle defenders, and adapt tactically. Porto, a club known for refining strikers and competing regularly in Europe, could be the perfect environment for him to elevate his game.
The Portuguese league also suits Moffi’s profile. It offers a balance of technical football and physical duels—an ideal platform for a striker who thrives on movement, strength, and quick decision-making in the box.
For Moffi, this loan spell is more than just another transfer; it is an opportunity to reassert himself, regain confidence, and remind Europe of his value. With trust from the coach and belief from experienced figures like Peseiro, the stage is set.
If he hits the ground running, Porto may not just be a temporary stop—but a defining chapter in Terem Moffi’s career.
