Lazio Open to Selling Dele-Bashiru Amid Summer Transfer Plans
Italian Serie A side Lazio are reportedly ready to part ways with Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercato, the Rome-based club have placed a valuation of between €15 million and €18 million on the Super Eagles star.
Dele-Bashiru had previously been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico during the January transfer window but remained at the club following the departure of several key players.
However, head coach Maurizio Sarri has now reportedly approved his exit as Lazio look to reshape their squad.
The 25-year-old joined Lazio from Turkish side Hatayspor in 2024 and has made 17 league appearances for the Biancocelesti this season.
Opinion: A Fresh Start Might Be Exactly What He Needs
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s potential exit from Lazio feels less like a setback and more like an opportunity.
At 25, he is at a crucial stage in his career—old enough to have experience, but still young enough to grow into a top-level midfielder. However, limited game time and an uncertain role at Lazio have made it difficult for him to fully establish himself.
A move this summer could change that.
The €15–18 million price tag suggests Lazio still see value in him, but perhaps not as a central part of their long-term plans. For Dele-Bashiru, the priority now should be finding a club where he can play regularly and develop consistency.
This is especially important for his international career. With increasing competition in Nigeria’s midfield, regular club football will be key to maintaining his place in the Super Eagles setup.
Sometimes, staying at a big club isn’t the best option—playing consistently at the right club is.
If Dele-Bashiru makes the right move, this could be the turning point that takes his career to the next level. But if he chooses poorly, he risks remaining on the fringes.
In football, timing and decisions matter—and this summer could define his next chapter.
