VeryDarkMan Confirms EFCC Invitation, Claims Probe Is Attempt to Silence Criticism
Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that he received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a petition concerning his financial activities.
The development followed a complaint submitted to the anti-graft agency by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners.
The petition reportedly requested a detailed investigation into the financial dealings, sponsorship arrangements and funding channels linked to VeryDarkMan and activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju.
Reacting to the invitation through his social media platform, VeryDarkMan described the move as an attempt to intimidate and silence critics of the government.
The activist alleged that individuals connected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were using legal processes to target voices speaking against government policies.
“They want to stop us from speaking against this evil government that has failed to protect the lives of Nigerians. So, they used their people to write petitions,” he wrote on Instagram.
The EFCC invitation comes amid growing public discussions around accountability, activism and the use of legal institutions to investigate public figures. While VeryDarkMan views the development as an attempt to suppress criticism, the petitioners have called for scrutiny of the financial matters raised.
The outcome of the inquiry will determine whether the matter leads to further action or ends as a routine investigation. For now, the development has added another chapter to the activist’s ongoing public battles and outspoken criticism on national issues.
