Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has dismissed reports claiming that he is battling a terminal illness, describing the viral claims as false and misleading.
The rumours gained attention after a video showing the actor looking frail circulated on social media, causing concern among fans and colleagues who began questioning his health condition.
Reacting to the reports in a video shared on his Instagram page, Francis Duru thanked his supporters for their prayers and reassured them that he has never been as sick as portrayed in the viral clip.
“My dear fans, greetings to you all. Thank you all for always being there for me with your prayers and your wishes,” he said.
“I have never been that sick and would never be that sick. And by God’s grace, I will keep being stronger and stronger.”
The actor described the viral report as the work of people spreading negativity for attention, urging fans not to believe everything circulating online.
“That video is the handwork of the merchants of darkness, wickedness, those who sit and concoct negativity for people,” he added.
While his clarification brought relief to some fans, others expressed concern about his appearance in the video, particularly his noticeable weight loss and physical look.
