Baba Ijesha, Wife Luminee Announce Son’s Naming Ceremony Amid Public Attention
Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha and his wife, celebrity stylist Luminee, have announced plans for the naming ceremony of their son, King Kagar Omiyinka.
The couple shared details of the event on their Instagram pages, inviting fans and well-wishers to celebrate with them on August 27, 2026.
According to the invitation flyer, guests interested in getting the Asoebi outfit will pay N250,000 for males and N350,000 for females, with arrangements also made for fans abroad to receive theirs through delivery from Lagos.
The couple described the ceremony as a “royal celebration” for their son and revealed that they would also share their love story journey during the event.
The announcement comes shortly after the couple welcomed their first child together, with Luminee expressing joy over the arrival of their baby boy, who she described as a special blessing to their family.
However, Baba Ijesha’s return to the public spotlight continues to attract mixed reactions due to his past legal issues. The actor was convicted in 2022 over the sexual assault case involving a minor and was later released from custody after serving part of his sentence.
Opinion: The naming ceremony is a joyful moment for any family, but public figures often carry their past with them, especially when serious controversies are involved. While people may celebrate new beginnings, accountability and sensitivity toward victims remain important parts of any conversation surrounding a person’s comeback.
