Tolu Arokodare Nears Trabzonspor Loan Switch as Wolves Finalise Talks

Tolu Arokodare Nears Trabzonspor Loan Switch as Wolves Finalise Talks

Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare is on the verge of joining Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., with negotiations between the two clubs entering their final stages.

According to reports from Turkey, Trabzonspor are pushing to complete the deal as they seek to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the new season following the departure of Brazilian striker Felipe Augusto to **FC Zenit Saint Petersburg>.

One of the key issues being discussed is Arokodare's salary, with Wolves reportedly insisting that the Turkish club cover the striker's full annual wage of €3.7 million as part of the loan agreement.

Trabzonspor's urgency in securing a new forward has also been influenced by uncertainty surrounding the future of fellow Nigerian international Paul Onuachu. The prolific striker, who finished as the joint-top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig last season, has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli Saudi FC.

Arokodare is expected to travel to Turkey next Monday to complete the transfer, provided both clubs reach a final agreement.

The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Belgian champions KRC Genk last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in the Premier League. During his debut league campaign with the Midlands club, he scored three goals and provided one assist in 33 appearances.

A move to Trabzonspor could offer the Nigerian striker a fresh opportunity to rediscover his best form in a league where several compatriots have flourished in recent years.

Opinion: Turkey Could Be the Perfect Reset for Arokodare

Tolu Arokodare's proposed move to Trabzonspor appears to be a sensible one for all parties involved. While his first season at Wolves provided valuable Premier League experience, regular playing time proved difficult to come by, making a loan switch an attractive option.

The Turkish Super Lig has become a welcoming destination for Nigerian forwards, with players such as Paul Onuachu enjoying tremendous success. If Onuachu departs, Arokodare could step into a prominent role at one of Turkey's biggest clubs and receive the consistent opportunities needed to rebuild his confidence.

For Wolves, allowing the striker to gain regular minutes elsewhere could significantly increase his value while helping him continue his development. Insisting that Trabzonspor cover his wages also makes financial sense for the Premier League club.

Should the deal be completed, the move could prove beneficial for Arokodare's club career and strengthen his chances of remaining in contention for future opportunities with Nigeria's Super Eagles.
