Ajax Close In on Super Eagles Striker Tolu Arokodare in €20m Transfer Deal
Dutch giants Ajax are on the verge of completing the signing of Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano revealed that the two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan deal that includes a purchase option worth slightly more than €20 million, with only the final details left to be completed.
Writing on X, Romano said:
"Ajax are closing in on deal to sign Tolu Arokodare as new striker from Wolves! Club-to-club agreement done on loan with buy option for package slightly over €20m."
He added:
"Ajax wanted Tolu as priority, club sources confirm—now working on final details."
Arokodare had previously attracted interest from Serie A sides Fiorentina and Genoa, but Ajax have now emerged as the frontrunners for the Nigerian forward's signature.
The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular goalscorer in England. During his debut Premier League campaign, he scored three goals and provided one assist in 33 league appearances for the Old Gold.
A move to Ajax could offer Arokodare the opportunity for a fresh start in a league renowned for developing attacking talent and providing strikers with the platform to flourish.
