Euro 2024: No third-place play-off in tournament

There will be no third-place playoff at Euro 2024.

Spain advanced to the final on Tuesday night, defeating France 2-1.

However, Les Bleus will not be waiting around, as they have already played their final match of the competition.

The other semi-final will pit England against the Netherlands for a chance to face Spain in the final on Sunday.

Unlike the World Cup, the Euros do not have any third-place matches, which normally take place prior to the final.

There have been no third-place matches at the Euros since 1980.

Following a 1-1 draw with hosts Italy, Czechoslovakia won 9-8 on penalties.
