Ademola Lookman ‘Suffered Injustice’ in Failed Inter Milan Move – Nicola Ventola Claims

Ademola Lookman ‘Suffered Injustice’ in Failed Inter Milan Move – Nicola Ventola Claims

Former Inter Milan striker Nicola Ventola has stirred conversation in the Italian football scene after claiming that Ademola Lookman was treated unfairly during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Viva el Futbol, Ventola suggested that the Atalanta forward was promised a move to Inter Milan, only for the deal to collapse despite the Nigerian international’s clear desire to leave.

“Personally, Lookman, in my opinion, is the one who suffered an injustice in the summer,” Ventola said.
“After two years, there have been promises not fulfilled.”

The 27-year-old Super Eagles star had reportedly pushed for a switch to Inter, even submitting a transfer request and skipping training sessions in an effort to force the move. Despite his efforts, Lookman was left stranded at Bergamo, where he continues to play a vital role for Atalanta, the club he helped to a historic UEFA Europa League title last season.

💭 Opinion: A Transfer That Never Was — And the Emotional Toll of Football Promises

The transfer market often feels like a battleground of ambition, negotiation, and broken promises — and Ademola Lookman’s case is a textbook example.

For a player who had just helped Atalanta lift a European trophy, a move to a bigger club like Inter Milan seemed like the natural next step. But football, as we know, isn’t always fair — deals collapse, priorities shift, and players are left in emotional limbo.

Ventola’s remarks highlight a deeper issue: the human side of transfer politics. When clubs make verbal promises or show strong interest but fail to deliver, players often pay the price in both confidence and motivation.

Still, Lookman’s professionalism since then speaks volumes. Instead of sulking, he’s channelled his disappointment into performance — proving once again that resilience often defines true stars more than transfer headlines.

If anything, this “injustice” might just fuel Lookman to shine even brighter this season, reminding the world — and perhaps Inter Milan — of what they missed.
