“They Cut Me Out Because I Don’t Speak Good English” — Lege Miami Speaks on Seyi Tinubu’s 40th Birthday Documentary 🎬

“They Cut Me Out Because I Don’t Speak Good English” — Lege Miami Speaks on Seyi Tinubu’s 40th Birthday Documentary 🎬

Nollywood actor and musician Adams Kehinde, popularly known as Lege Miami, has sparked online reactions after revealing that his segment was removed from a documentary made to celebrate Seyi Tinubu’s 40th birthday earlier this week.

In a viral video posted on Friday, Lege claimed that the segment he recorded to wish the president’s son a happy birthday was cut out by Seyi’s media handlers due to his “poor command of English.”

The actor, known for his humorous personality and matchmaking live sessions on Instagram, explained that while the incident hurt him, he does not blame Seyi Tinubu personally.

“I am responsible for my predicament because I am the one who doesn’t speak good English,” Lege said. “They came to my house, recorded me, and I sent my birthday wishes, but Seyi’s people didn’t include me. It’s not Seyi’s fault — he’s my friend and a good person. If I had packaged myself better or spoke good English, maybe they would have included me.”

Lege further urged Nigerians to stop tagging Seyi Tinubu over the issue, saying it was becoming unbearable.

“Stop tagging me; it’s not his fault. I caused it myself,” he added.

Opinion:
Lege Miami’s honesty and humility in addressing what could have been a public embarrassment are both refreshing and rare in today’s celebrity culture. In a world where many deflect blame or turn issues into online drama, Lege took full responsibility for his shortcomings — a gesture that has earned him sympathy and respect from many fans.

Yet, his story also shines a light on a bigger social issue — how language and appearance often determine who gets visibility in Nigeria’s entertainment and political spaces. Many talented individuals are overlooked simply because they don’t “sound polished” or “look the part.”

At the heart of it, Lege’s message reminds us that authenticity still matters. Whether one speaks perfect English or not, sincerity and loyalty — which he clearly has for Seyi Tinubu — should never be edited out.

After all, friendship isn’t about grammar; it’s about heart. ❤️
