Lege Miami Opens Up on Strain of Friendship with Seyi Tinubu: “It’s More Pressure Than Influence”
Nollywood actor and popular online matchmaker, Adams Kehinde, better known as Lege Miami, has revealed that his friendship with Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s president, has brought him more pressure than privilege.
In a video shared online, Lege explained that while many Nigerians assume the friendship grants him influence and access, it has instead caused unexpected strain on his finances and peace of mind. According to him, he is constantly approached by people with requests and expectations simply because of his association with Seyi Tinubu.
“I no enjoy Seyi as a friend at all. I don use all my matchmaking money for this matter, saying I’m Seyi Tinubu’s friend. At times, I can call Seyi 100 times and he won’t pick my call. He only calls me once in a while to ask if I’m okay,” Lege said.
Lege added that the pressure primarily comes from outsiders who assume he has direct access to resources, rather than from Seyi himself, who checks in occasionally.
The actor also addressed a recent incident where he was edited out of a special video documentary celebrating Seyi Tinubu’s 40th birthday. He explained that the omission was due to his poor English and stressed that Seyi should not be blamed for the editing decision.
Opinion: The Weight of Public Perception vs. Real Friendship
Lege Miami’s candid revelations highlight a key lesson: public perception often distorts the realities of relationships, especially when they involve high-profile figures. While many assume proximity to influential individuals comes with privileges, the truth is often more complicated.
Lege’s experience shows that fame by association can carry heavy burdens—financial, social, and emotional. Constant expectations from outsiders, coupled with limited reciprocity, can make friendships with public figures feel one-sided.
This story also serves as a reminder that true influence is not merely being seen with the powerful, but being valued for mutual trust, support, and genuine connection. Lege’s honesty is refreshing, revealing that navigating high-profile friendships is not always as glamorous as it seems.
