Yomi Fabiyi Alleges Mohbad Was Murdered, Calls on Tinubu for Intervention
Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred controversy once again, this time concerning the tragic death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Fabiyi claims he possesses a video that reveals the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely demise.
In a recent social media post, Fabiyi called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter. According to the actor, the video was sent to him as part of an extortion attempt, but it highlights serious concerns about Mohbad’s death. He revealed that he had even written to President Tinubu in May 2025, alleging that Mohbad was “murdered.”
Fabiyi further stated that the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had reviewed Mohbad’s case file and identified key suspects. Yet, he claims that authorities now want to cover up the findings. According to him, the same suspects are reportedly being asked to file a petition against him over alleged illegal arrests. Fabiyi insists this is an attempt to silence him and suppress evidence:
"This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you," he alleged.
Opinion:
If Fabiyi’s claims hold water, this is more than a celebrity controversy—it’s a matter of justice and accountability. Mohbad’s death shook the Nigerian music industry, and fans deserve transparency, not cover-ups or intimidation. While the details are still emerging, the allegations highlight a troubling pattern where powerful interests may seek to bury inconvenient truths.
The public and authorities alike must prioritize truth over silence. Mohbad’s legacy, like that of any citizen, deserves justice. Fabiyi’s bold stance is a reminder that sometimes speaking out—despite risks—is the only way to ensure accountability.
Conclusion:
As the saga unfolds, all eyes will be on law enforcement and the Presidency to see if justice for Mohbad can prevail. In a country where corruption and cover-ups are often rampant, Fabiyi’s allegations challenge both the authorities and the public to demand answers.
