Yomi Fabiyi Alleges Fallout with Funke Akindele After House Completion Revelation
Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has opened up about the breakdown of his relationship with fellow actress Funke Akindele, claiming their communication ended abruptly after he shared news of completing his house.
Speaking during a live TikTok session, Fabiyi recounted that he and Akindele had maintained a long-standing friendship, which, according to him, ended without any clear explanation.
He alleged that the last interaction between them occurred when he informed her about finishing his house project, after which she reportedly stopped communicating with him.
Fabiyi expressed disappointment over the situation, stating that he could not identify any wrongdoing on his part that might have caused the sudden silence.
Reflecting more broadly on his experience in the movie industry, the actor described it as unpredictable, suggesting that public perceptions of individuals often differ from reality behind the scenes.
“The day I told her that I had completed my house was the last day she ever talked to me, and I didn’t offend her,” he said.
As of now, Funke Akindele has not publicly responded to the claims.
Opinion: One Side of the Story—and the Complexity of Industry Relationships
Yomi Fabiyi’s revelation is striking, but it also highlights a familiar issue in celebrity narratives—he is telling his side of the story, and only his side.
In industries like Nollywood, relationships are often complex, influenced by personal, professional, and sometimes unspoken factors. What appears sudden or unexplained from one perspective may have deeper context from another.
It is also worth noting that publicising such personal experiences can shape public opinion quickly, especially when the other party has not responded. This creates a one-sided narrative that may not fully capture the truth.
At the same time, Fabiyi’s comments touch on a broader reality—many professional relationships in entertainment are fragile. Fame, success, and competition can quietly reshape dynamics over time.
However, attributing the end of a friendship to a single moment—like sharing good news—raises questions. Human relationships are rarely that simple.
Ultimately, this situation serves as a reminder that not all stories are complete when first told. Until all sides are heard, the most balanced response is to view such claims with caution while acknowledging the emotions behind them.
