Peggy Ovire Fires Back at Taiye Arimoro’s ₦100 Million Assault Claim

Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has strongly refuted the ₦100 million lawsuit filed by her colleague, actor Taiye Arimoro, describing his allegations as misleading, selective, and materially false.

The controversy stems from an incident on November 11, 2025, when Arimoro claimed he was physically assaulted after his contract ended at 11:59 PM and he was blocked from leaving the set. According to Arimoro, the production manager first stopped his vehicle, and another car later blocked the exit, prompting him to go live on Instagram to document the situation. He alleged that Ovire and her team confronted him at the estate gate, deflating his tyres and causing injuries including a fractured jaw, bite marks, and bruises.

However, Peggy’s legal team insists that Arimoro is twisting events. They claim that the only physical contact occurred when she “pushed him lightly” as he allegedly tried to tamper with her car. The lawyers also contended that Arimoro’s Instagram Live and selective CCTV footage were intended to manipulate public perception in his favor.

Peggy took to Instagram to address the situation directly, writing:
“Until the police investigation is concluded, let it be clear that my silence should not be mistaken for cowardice.”

The matter is reportedly under investigation by both the police and the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
