Folarin Targets Unbeaten Finish for Remo Stars in NPFL First Round
Remo Stars head coach Sulaiman Folarin has declared his side’s intention to end the first half of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on a strong and unbeaten note.
The Sky Blue Stars have endured a mixed campaign so far, recording seven wins, one draw and eight defeats from 16 league matches. Despite the uneven run, Folarin remains optimistic that his team can finish the first round positively.
Remo Stars face Bayelsa United in their next league fixture on Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, a venue known for its demanding atmosphere.
Speaking to Remo Stars media, Folarin insisted that his players are fully focused on securing maximum points.
“Our plan is not to lose any match in the first round again,” he said.
“We will go to Bayelsa United and fight and hope to get the result needed.”
Opinion: Belief Is Good, Consistency Is Better
Folarin’s confidence is encouraging, but turning words into results will be the real test. Remo Stars’ record shows a team capable of winning, yet still searching for consistency — a familiar story in the NPFL.
An away trip to Bayelsa United is never straightforward. The heat, the pitch, and the passionate home support make Yenagoa one of the toughest venues in the league. To leave with points, Remo Stars will need more than belief; they will need discipline, focus, and tactical maturity.
Still, this ambition to finish the first round unbeaten could be the mental reset the team needs. If Remo Stars can grind out results in difficult games like this, they may yet turn a patchy season into a promising one.
Sunday’s clash will reveal whether this is merely hope — or the beginning of a strong resurgence.
