2Baba and Wife in Legal Dispute Over Alleged Rent Arrears in Abuja

Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and his wife, Natasha Idibia, are reportedly involved in a legal dispute with their landlord over unpaid fees for their Abuja residence.

The property in question is a 5-bedroom semi-detached duplex with a room boy’s quarters (BQ) located at No. 27 Edwin Clerk Crescent, Guzape, Abuja FCT.

The dispute comes after Natasha previously claimed that the house was a gift from her grandfather to her and 2Baba, a statement that led many to believe the couple owned the property outright. However, court documents suggest that the Idibias are tenants, and the landlord has approached the courts seeking approval to remove them due to alleged rent arrears and unpaid professional fees.

According to the documents, the couple initially paid ₦40 million upfront for a two-year rental agreement, with the second installment due by the end of December 2025. The landlord claims they refused to pay a professional fee of ₦7 million related to the facilitation of the tenancy. Efforts to collect the payment reportedly included a cheque that was returned unpaid.

The court papers read in part:

“We will be offering an olive branch for the period of 7 (Seven) days for the sum to be paid to our client and thereafter we won’t hesitate to take proper legal action to recover the professional fees of our client.”
