Rotimi Salami Breaks Silence After Death of Mentor Allwell Ademola
Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has finally spoken publicly following the sudden death of his close associate and mentor, actress Allwell Ademola, who passed away from a heart attack on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
In the days following the tragic news, many Nigerians flooded Salami’s comment section on social media, expressing deep concern about his emotional well-being. The actor had remained silent until he shared a heartfelt and emotional post on Instagram that has since gone viral.
In the post, Salami revealed the depth of his grief and pleaded with the public not to console him if they see him, explaining that he is still too fragile to handle such moments.
“Please, when you see me, don’t try to console me. Because I will break down. I still can’t say farewell, Shuga Boo. All is not well at the moment,” he wrote.
Salami also described the pain of losing Ademola, noting that even 72 hours of nonstop tears could not bring her back. However, he pledged to stay strong for the sake of his family, friends, fans, and especially his children, who he said would look up to him for strength as they learn to live without her.
He further thanked everyone who had reached out with prayers, calls, messages, and voice notes, adding that he was currently too emotionally weak to respond.
“To everyone who has genuinely reached out to me with love and concern for my state of mind and well-being, I see all. I’m just too weak to read, listen, respond, or even find the words to express how I really feel right now,” he added.
Opinion:
Rotimi Salami’s message is a raw reminder that grief does not follow a script. In a time when public figures are often expected to remain composed online, his honesty humanizes the pain behind celebrity lives. His words also serve as a gentle lesson on empathy—sometimes, silence, prayers, and space are the greatest forms of support. As the Nollywood industry mourns Allwell Ademola, Salami’s tribute reflects the deep personal bonds that exist beyond the screen.
