Ancelotti Backs Arsenal for Premier League Glory — But Is the Pressure Now Rising?
Speaking to TNT Sports, the legendary coach didn’t hesitate when asked about his title favourites.
“Who wins the Premier League? Arsenal,” Ancelotti declared confidently.
The Italian explained that his support is partly fueled by his affection for the Premier League and partly by the presence of Brazilian stars in England’s top clubs.
“They have built a solid team… I support Arsenal because I have Gabriel. I support Tottenham because of Richarlison. I support the Brazilian players,”
he added.
Arsenal’s recent slip — a 2–1 defeat to Aston Villa — reduced their lead at the top of the table to just two points, with Manchester City quickly closing the gap after a dominant 3–0 win over Sunderland.
Yet, even with that setback, Ancelotti believes the Gunners’ strong start and squad balance have put them in a prime position to finish the job this season.
OPINION — A Compliment That Comes With Great Expectation
Ancelotti’s words are more than just praise — they’re a spotlight shining directly on Arsenal’s ambitions. When a coach of his stature publicly backs you, the world pays attention. And pressure suddenly doubles.
Arsenal have shown maturity, composure, and consistency so far. Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhães, and Bukayo Saka have all stepped up, while Arteta’s system continues to evolve with fluid attacking football and a more ruthless mentality.
But the Premier League doesn’t hand out titles for early performances. The hardest months — January to May — are where true champions survive storms, bounce back from losses, and win when the tension is unbearable.
Ancelotti’s prediction might inspire the Gunners… or it might sharpen the hunger of their rivals. Manchester City, especially, need no invitation to start a late-season takeover.
The belief is there. The squad is strong. The opportunity is real.
Now Arsenal must prove that this time, they can finish what they started.
