Arsenal Suffer Major Blow as Havertz is Ruled Out for the Season

Arsenal’s title challenge has taken a devastating hit as the club confirmed that Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season due to a serious hamstring injury.

Havertz Set for Surgery

The German international picked up the injury during the club’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai, and after further assessments, the club revealed that surgery is necessary.

"Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days," Arsenal stated on Thursday.

"Soon after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, which is expected to extend into pre-season preparations for next season."

Arsenal’s Striker Crisis Deepens

Havertz’s injury further weakens Arsenal’s attack, as Gabriel Jesus has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury sustained in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.

This leaves Mikel Arteta without a recognized striker for the final 14 games of the Premier League season, as Arsenal look to chase down a seven-point gap on league leaders Liverpool.

To make matters worse, the club failed to sign a striker in the January transfer window, with their late bid for Ollie Watkins rejected by Aston Villa.
