Adamawa Queens FC Finds New Home at Makwada Stadium, Numan – A Fresh Start for the NWFL Side

Adamawa Queens FC Finds New Home at Makwada Stadium, Numan – A Fresh Start for the NWFL Side

Adamawa Queens FC, the pride of Adamawa State’s female football scene, is embarking on a new journey as they officially relocate their home ground to the Makwada Stadium in Numan, located 70 kilometres north of the state capital, Yola. The decision, announced by the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), marks a significant change in the club’s 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership Season.

According to an official letter signed by NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, the relocation takes immediate effect, starting with the upcoming Match No. 61 where Adamawa Queens FC will face the formidable Rivers Angels on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

For a long time, Adamawa Queens had been forced to use the Patami Stadium in Gombe—a grueling distance of over 250 kilometres from Yola—as their home ground. The move to Makwada Stadium brings the team much closer to their roots, a change expected to boost their performance with increased local support.

A Strategic Step Towards Growth

The shift to Makwada Stadium isn’t just about convenience; it’s about strategy. The newly refurbished stadium in Numan offers better facilities and a more supportive environment for the team to thrive. With Coach Justin Madugu, who also serves as the National Coach for the Falconets, guiding the team, the expectations are high.

Interestingly, the Adamawa United FC, the male football team, will also begin hosting matches at the Makwada Stadium, making it a central hub for football excellence in the state.

Opinion: A Homecoming That Matters

This move could be the game-changer Adamawa Queens FC desperately needs. Having their own stadium closer to their base is likely to inspire stronger performances and renewed confidence. Fans from Yola and nearby areas will now have better access to cheer their team to victory.

But it’s not just about convenience; it’s about identity. Adamawa Queens finally have a home they can truly call their own, and the timing couldn’t be better. As they prepare to face Rivers Angels, all eyes will be on the team to see if this transition will translate into improved results on the pitch.

With the guidance of an experienced coach like Justin Madugu and the enthusiastic support of local fans, Adamawa Queens FC could very well emerge as a formidable force in the NWFL Premiership.

Will the new home ground give Adamawa Queens FC the winning edge they’ve been searching for?
