Laide Bakare Vows to "Deal" with Eniola Badmus Over "Animal" Comment — A Fallout of Friendship or Fame?

Laide Bakare Vows to "Deal" with Eniola Badmus Over "Animal" Comment — A Fallout of Friendship or Fame?

In what appears to be a full-blown Nollywood feud, popular actress Laide Bakare has publicly fired back at her colleague Eniola Badmus, vowing to “deal” with her over a deeply personal insult that has set social media ablaze.

The drama unfolded shortly after the Owanbe Thieves movie premiere on Sunday — a glamorous event that quickly turned sour behind the scenes. According to Laide, Eniola slid into her Instagram DMs to lash out, calling her a “terrible animalistic” person and urging her to stay away.

Bakare, visibly hurt and furious, didn’t hold back. She not only shared the screenshot of the DM exchange but also dug into their history, claiming she gave Eniola her first major role in the industry during a time when no one wanted to associate with her due to her “ugly looks and obesity.”

“All you could pay me back with is to call me animal? Haaa! Eniola! Almighty God will judge you, Insha Allah,” Laide wrote.
“You just started what you cannot finish, and I promise you must collect.”

💭 Opinion: When Friends Become Frenemies in Public

This heated exchange highlights a growing pattern in Nollywood — personal fallouts being played out before the public eye. What was once reserved for closed-door conversations is now front-page gossip and Insta-stories, leaving fans torn and intrigued.

While both actresses are known for their no-nonsense attitudes and confidence, this particular fallout carries a painful undertone. If Laide Bakare’s claims are true — that she supported Eniola in her early years — then the betrayal stings deeper.

But insults, no matter how provoked, rarely settle scores. They only escalate tensions.

📌 A Call for Class Over Clashes

It’s sad to see two seasoned actresses — both of whom have broken boundaries in Nollywood — trading words in such a hostile, public way. While drama might sell movies, real-life drama between industry veterans does little to uplift the industry’s image.

It’s time the movie stars, and their fans, remember: Growth, not grudges, is the real glow-up.

🗣️ Words cut deeper when they come from those we once lifted. But sometimes, silence is the loudest clapback.
