Kwam1 Breaks Silence: “I’m a Christian, Not a Muslim” – Reveals Deep Ties to Celestial Church
In a revelation that has taken many fans by surprise, iconic Nigerian Fuji legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam1, has publicly declared that he is a Christian and a proud member of the Celestial Church of Christ — contrary to widespread beliefs that he is Muslim.
Speaking on the Agbaletu Radiovision Podcast, the 68-year-old artist cleared the air on his faith, saying:
“Yes, I attend the Celestial Church. I’m a bonafide member… a proud one. In fact, I built a church.”
Kwam1, whose first name “Wasiu” and his mother’s Islamic burial rites in January 2025 had led many to associate him with Islam, said that his spiritual journey has taken him through different paths in search of divine guidance.
“During my difficult time, I sought religion and the face of God in two different ways. There’s no place I didn’t seek God’s face,” he added.
