“I Deleted My Video Out of Compassion” — Bobrisky Speaks on VeryDarkMan’s Arrest Amid Ongoing Feud
Controversial Nigerian crossdresser and internet personality, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has once again addressed his long-standing rift with outspoken social critic Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM)—this time following VDM’s recent arrest by the EFCC.
In a candid and emotionally layered video shared on social media, Bobrisky admitted that his initial reaction to the news was laughter, considering their turbulent history. However, he revealed that he later deleted the video out of compassion.
“I had to delete it because my real person is kind,” Bobrisky said. “Even when they arrested him, I wasn’t happy. I just laughed because of the history between us.”
He reminded followers that VDM had mocked him during his own run-in with the law in 2023, laughing publicly at his situation.
“He was happy when it was me, but life is a cycle—what goes around, comes around.”
While some fans have taken to social media calling for VDM’s release, Bobrisky took a bold stance, accusing many of being selective in their outrage.
“You people shouting ‘Free VeryDarkMan’—were you there when he was hurting others? Most of you don’t care about justice; you’re just chasing clout.”
Still, Bobrisky insisted there is no personal vendetta.
“I’ve never met him. I don’t follow him. I don’t wish him bad. But I won’t keep quiet when someone tries to drag my name through the mud.”
Opinion: Compassion or Calculation?
Bobrisky’s response to VDM’s arrest highlights a complex, often toxic cycle in social media feuds—where public figures swing between revenge and redemption, clout and compassion. While it’s commendable that he deleted the video out of kindness, many wonder whether this gesture was genuine empathy or image control.
The internet never forgets, and in the age of receipts and reposts, one moment of pettiness can easily go viral. Yet, what makes this moment intriguing is Bobrisky’s duality—owning his past hurt but choosing restraint, even when the opportunity for a social media ‘win’ presented itself.
In the end, whether you stan Bobrisky, support VDM, or watch from the sidelines, one thing’s clear: social media isn’t just entertainment—it’s a battleground for reputation, revenge, and relevance.
