Angela Okorie Cries Out: “Too Many Haters in Nollywood – They Want to Be Me So Bad!”

Angela Okorie Cries Out: “Too Many Haters in Nollywood – They Want to Be Me So Bad!”

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has taken to social media with a passionate outcry against what she described as “fake friendships, copycats, and evil intentions” within the Nigerian film industry.

In a strongly worded post on her Instagram story, the actress lamented the overwhelming hate and jealousy she believes she’s been facing from industry colleagues.

🗣️ “They want to be me… but also want me gone.”

Angela didn’t mince words in accusing fellow Nollywood actors of pretending to be friends while secretly wishing her harm — even going as far as suggesting some may want to “poison her” or eliminate her out of envy.

“The kind things wey dey sup for this industry na only God dey save me… Some people don’t even like me but want to be friends so bad… the hate is too much.”

“There’s nothing wrong with copying someone’s style. The scary part is wanting to take the person out of the surface of the earth – that’s wickedness.”

🔍 Trust Issues and the Cost of Fame

Angela’s post reveals not just the tension of public life but the emotional toll of navigating fame in a hyper-competitive environment. Her words echo sentiments many artists quietly battle with: loneliness, trust issues, and survival in an industry filled with rivalry masked by politeness.

💭 Opinion — Is This a Cry for Help or a Wake-Up Call?

While some may dismiss Angela’s message as another Nollywood drama, the pain in her tone suggests something deeper — perhaps even a plea for protection, healing, or honest connection. Her post opens up necessary conversations around mental health, rivalry, and toxic circles in showbiz.

Let’s not be too quick to judge.

Sometimes, the loudest cries come from those who feel most unheard.

📢 Do you believe Angela Okorie’s concerns reflect a deeper problem in Nollywood? Or is this just a personal rant?
