Yetunde Barnabas Slams Trolls Criticizing Her Daughter’s Use of a Stroller

Yetunde Barnabas Slams Trolls Criticizing Her Daughter’s Use of a Stroller

Nollywood actress Yetunde Barnabas has fired back at online critics who mocked her for allowing her 3-year-old daughter to use a stroller during their vacation in Europe.

The backlash began after photos from the trip surfaced, with some social media users suggesting that a child of that age should not need a stroller to move around.

Reacting in a strongly worded Instagram post, Yetunde condemned what she described as the “shameless” act of bullying a child. She questioned the parenting skills of those criticizing her and made it clear she would not tolerate anyone disrespecting her daughter.

“You fools bullying a 3-year-old on why she’s still using a stroller are really shameless. I am not that gentle when it comes to my child o, I will rubbish you… When is it a crime for a toddler to use a stroller?” she wrote.

The actress explained that during her solo shopping trips in Europe, which could last over three hours, a stroller was both practical and necessary for her daughter’s comfort and safety. She ended her post with a pointed farewell to the trolls, writing, “Bye Felicia. Peace and Love.”

Opinion:
This incident highlights a persistent problem in celebrity culture—how quickly personal parenting choices become public debate. Parenting isn’t one-size-fits-all, and decisions like whether to use a stroller should be left to the child’s parents, not the court of public opinion.

While social media has given fans more access to celebrities, it has also emboldened strangers to weigh in on matters they don’t fully understand. In Yetunde’s case, her sharp clap-back may seem fiery, but it also sends a clear message: a mother’s right to protect her child—physically and emotionally—should never be up for online ridicule.

Sometimes, the best thing we can do when we see parenting choices we wouldn’t make is simple—scroll past.
