Veekee James Opens Up on Depression Battle Sparked by False Rumors

Veekee James Opens Up on Depression Battle Sparked by False Rumors

Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has revealed how malicious online rumors almost pushed her into depression, marking one of the toughest moments of her life.

In a candid interview with media personality Nancy Isime, Veekee recounted how a viral claim that she had “snatched” her husband, Femi Atere, from a friend, left her emotionally broken.

“There was one that really shook me, and that was the period when we had to ask God to help us come out of it. Immediately, we came out of it; that was the end,” she recalled.

The designer said the false allegations were so overwhelming that she shut herself in her room for two days, crying and praying for strength.
“I remember entering my room and not coming out for two days. I was crying and praying. The way God brought me out felt like a miracle,” she added.

Veekee explained that this was her first real encounter with depression—an experience she had never fully understood until then. Although the rumors continued to circulate, she said she eventually found the strength to laugh them off, thanks to her faith and resilience.

Opinion: The Silent Wounds of Online Bullying

Veekee James’ story is more than a celebrity confession—it’s a mirror reflecting the darker side of social media culture. In an era where unfounded claims can spread like wildfire, many public figures are left to silently nurse emotional wounds inflicted by faceless voices online.

Her experience reminds us that behind the glitz, fame, and curated Instagram feeds are real people with real emotions. Words, whether true or false, carry weight—and the scars they leave can be deeper than we think.

It also sheds light on an important truth: mental health struggles are not a sign of weakness but a shared human experience. Veekee’s openness about her pain and her reliance on faith as an anchor is a powerful testament to resilience.

As fans and online communities, we must recognize our role in shaping healthier conversations. Every rumor we share, every careless comment we drop, could either uplift or crush a soul.

Perhaps Veekee’s story is a call to all of us—not just to consume gossip less, but to spread kindness more. After all, while lies fade with time, the strength to rise above them becomes the true legacy.
