Fidelis Ilechukwu Declares Rangers International F.C. ‘Best in Every Department’ After NPFL Summit Move
Technical adviser of Rangers International F.C., Fidelis Ilechukwu, has confidently stated that his team remains the strongest side across all departments in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Flying Antelopes climbed to the top of the league table following a solid 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United F.C. in their Matchday 28 encounter on Sunday.
Speaking after the game, Ilechukwu described the win as a product of preparation and discipline.
“We played against a very good team, we prepared very well and we defended well to get the win over them,” he said.
“The records are there to be seen because converting chances we are one of the best, defending also we are one of the best in that area.
“We will continue to work on the mentality of the players in subsequent matches.”
The result not only strengthened Rangers’ title credentials but also reinforced their growing reputation as one of the most balanced teams in the league this season.
Opinion: Confidence or Championship Mindset?
Ilechukwu’s bold claim may raise eyebrows, but league leaders are often expected to speak with authority. Rangers’ ability to score consistently while maintaining defensive solidity has indeed been a key factor in their rise to the summit.
However, in the NPFL, momentum can shift quickly. Being “the best in every department” is a strong statement — one that can only be justified by consistency until the final whistle of the season. The true test will be how Rangers handle pressure in the closing stretch, especially against fellow title contenders.
What stands out in Ilechukwu’s remarks is his emphasis on mentality. In tight title races, tactical strength matters, but psychological resilience often decides champions. If Rangers maintain focus and avoid complacency, their coach’s confidence may prove prophetic.
For now, the Flying Antelopes are flying high — but the race is far from over.
