Sneijder Applauds Arsenal’s “Impressive” Rise to Champions League Final

Sneijder Applauds Arsenal’s “Impressive” Rise to Champions League Final

Wesley Sneijder has praised Arsenal for their outstanding performance after booking a place in the UEFA Champions League final with a 1–0 victory over Atletico Madrid.

A decisive goal from Bukayo Saka in the semi-final second leg on Tuesday secured Arsenal’s progression, capping off a disciplined display against Diego Simeone’s side.

Mikel Arteta’s team will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the final later this month.

Reacting to the result, Sneijder commended Arsenal’s journey to the final, highlighting the significance of overcoming top European opposition.

“With this team, it is so impressive to reach the final… leaving all the other world-class teams behind you. I think that is very impressive,” he told Ziggo Sport.

Opinion: Arsenal’s Moment—But the Hardest Step Still Awaits

This isn’t just progress—it’s a statement.

Arsenal reaching the Champions League final signals a return to Europe’s elite, and the way they did it—disciplined, composed, and efficient—makes it even more convincing. Against a side like Atletico Madrid, known for defensive resilience, patience becomes a weapon. Arsenal used it perfectly.

Bukayo Saka once again proved decisive, underlining his growing importance in big moments. But beyond individuals, this feels like a team achievement—structured, balanced, and tactically mature.

Still, reaching the final is only part of the story.

Whether they face Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, the challenge ahead will be on another level. Finals are less about style and more about mentality—handling pressure, seizing moments, and avoiding costly mistakes.

Sneijder is right to call it impressive. But for Arsenal, the real question is simple: can they turn this impressive journey into a defining triumph?

Because in football, history remembers winners—not just finalists.
